Chevy Chase’s full name is Cornelius Crane “Chevy” Chase. His grandmother gave him the nickname “Chevy”. This was derived from the medieval English ballad “The Ballad of Chevy Chase”. He was born on October 8, 1943, in Lower Manhattan of New York City.
