Christopher Ryan Hardwick was born on 23rd November 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. His father Billy Hardwick (1941 to 2013) was a pro-ten-pin bowler while his mother Sharon Hills was a California-based real estate agent.
When he was 4, he bumped into comedian Joan Rivers and they became lifelong friends.
He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he became the 1983 Memphis City Junior High Chess Champion. Later, he attended St. Benedict at Auburndale and then moved to Aurora, Colorado for studying at Regis Jesuit High School.
He studied philosophy at the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated in 1993.

Christopher Hardwick started his career in the early days of 1990. During the mid-1990s, he was DJ on Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ-FM. At the same time, he started appearing in the famous American TV-series named ‘Thirtysomethin’.
