Early life

Christopher Ryan Hardwick was born on 23rd November 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. His father Billy Hardwick (1941 to 2013) was a pro-ten-pin bowler while his mother Sharon Hills was a California-based real estate agent.

When he was 4, he bumped into comedian Joan Rivers and they became lifelong friends. 

He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he became the 1983 Memphis City Junior High Chess Champion. Later, he attended St. Benedict at Auburndale and then moved to Aurora, Colorado for studying at Regis Jesuit High School. 

He studied philosophy at the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated in 1993. 


Christopher Hardwick started his career in the early days of 1990. During the mid-1990s, he was DJ on Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ-FM. At the same time, he started appearing in the famous American TV-series named ‘Thirtysomethin’. 

In 1993, he began hosting the game show ‘Trashed’. During 1995-98, Hardwick co-hosted another game show titled ‘Singled Out’ with Jenny McCarthy.

Earning popularity as a host during 1998-99, he hosted a famous dating TV show named ‘Shipmates’ that ran during 2001-03.

His ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra accused one of her ex-boyfriends of sexual and emotional abuse in June 2018.

One of them is the accusation of her ex, blacklisting her from the industry after the break-up. 

After the allegation, AMC suspended him from its shows and conducted an investigation. In August 2018, they concluded the investigation and allowed him to resume his position.
