Dana Carvey was born on June 2nd in the year 1955 to William Carvey (father) and Billie Carvey (mother) in Missoula, Montana, U. S.

Both his parents William Carvey (father) and Billie Carvey (mother) are teachers by profession. He is not the only child of his parents William and Billie but has four siblings as well.

His siblings include three elder brothers named Scott Carvey, Brad Carvey, and Mark Carvey.

Dana also has a younger sister named Lori Carvey. Carvey was born in Missoula, Montana but his family moved to San Carlos, California when he was just three years old. 

At an early age, he received his first drum kit. Dana attended Tierra Linda High School in San Carlos. Dana was a member of the Central Coast Section Champion cross country team in Carlmont high school, Belmont, Californa.
