Joyner Lucas was born on 17th August 1988 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has a birth name that is Gary Maurice Lucas Jr. 

He belongs to a mixed ethnicity since his father is an African American and his mother comes of Caucasian origin.

Lucas was raised in Worcester with his two other siblings. He attended South High Community School in Worcester and later graduated from there. 

Joyner Lucas has been passionate regarding music and composition since he was a little kid. Hence, he first began rapping when he was just a kid of 10 years old.

Joyner Lucas started his music career at an early age. He felt drawn towards hip-hop when he was young. He debuted as a rapper and used ‘G-Storm’ as his stage name.

Artists like Eminem, Biggie, and Nas had great influence over Lucas as he grew up listening to their music.

This mixtape contained the song ‘Ross Capicchioni’ that brought him mass popularity and public recognition for the very first time.

Based on a true event, the song led to them facing many controversies from the music industry and social media. 

Apart from that, in 2016, he signed to Atlantic Records. And in 2017, he released a project titled ‘508-507-2209’. The mixtape containing his singles titled ‘Ultrasound’, ‘I’m Sorry’, ‘Winter Blues’ and ‘Just Like You’ charted at number 7 on the ‘Heatseekers Albums’ chart on Billboard

The same year, he released the single ‘I’m Not Racist’ on his YouTube channel. It brought him under the spotlight once again as the song received enormous attention. 

In July 2018, he shared that he was suffering from hoarseness and laryngitis. For this, he had to cancel appearances in the European and Australian legs of his ‘I’m Kind of a Big Deal’ tour.

Later, he was featured in ‘Lucky You’ song from Eminem’s ‘Kamikaze’ album on 31 August 2018. The song reached number 6 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’. 

In March 2020, he released his debut studio album ADHD. Then in October 2020, he released another album titled ‘Evolution’.
