Early Life

McCormick was born into a family of four children, to Irene Beckman and Richard McCormick. She is the youngest in her family, having three older brothers. Her father was a teacher.

McCormick is of Irish and German descent, but her parents are long-time American citizens having both been born there.

She won her first Beauty Pageant at the young age of six. She got to appear for the first time on television in 1964, for Mattel toy commercials.

McCormick appeared as a child actress in Bewitched, I Dream of Jennie, Honey West, The Farmer’s Daughter, and My Three Sons, throughout the 1960s.

Career

The Brady Bunch

Maureen McCormick’s primary and main success started when she landed the role of Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch, which aired from 1969 to 1974 on the ABC Network.

The show got canceled in 1974, and McCormick appeared in spinoffs which branched off from the canceled main series.

Even after cancellation, the series aired for many decades and remained popular across other generations. This is one of few TV series that is loved by people regardless of age and culture.

Other Roles and Personal Struggles

McCormick had many small roles on television throughout the years afterward, but none of them would acquire her the level of success she had once gotten from The Brady Bunch.

She appeared in Love Boat, Donny & Marie, and Happy Days, just to name a few. However, from 1975 onwards, her struggles began.

She was afflicted with depression and addiction to drugs. After years of going through such events, she was able to reprise her role from The Brady Bunch in the short-lived series The Brady Brides in 1981, which was a spin-off from the movie The Brady Girls Get Married from the same year.

Music Career

She tried to seek a career in music, where she found some success. Four albums were recorded by The Brady Bunch cast, among which she was also present in 1972.

The next year, she ended up recording a pop extended play called Chris Knight and Maureen McCormick, which was done with her co-star from The Brady Bunch of the same name.

She would continue to appear in small roles across movies and television series across the years, and she released her first studio album in 1995. It is titled When You Get a Little Lonely, under Phantom Hill Records.

Although it was not very well received musically, her vocal takes got some praise from critics. She was not very pleased with how the music was produced, despite the studio being owned by her brother.

She has appeared in various reality shows such as Celebrity Fit Club and Gone Country and continued to do smaller roles in films and television series.

McCormick’s greatest success is from her appearance in The Brady Bunch, without any doubt. And her awards and nominations are in relevance with the show too. All have been presented by TV Land Awards

Age, Height, and Weight

Maureen McCormick is around 64 years old now. She is around 59 kilograms in weight or about 130 lbs. The actress is quite good in health for a woman of her age. She stands at about 5 feet 3 inches or 1.6 meters.

Personal Life

As mentioned before, McCormick has had a series of personal struggles as depression and addiction. The actress was most likely hit hard by the cancellation of The Brady Bunch, which sent her into a dark state.

She had abused cocaine and other drugs at this time, but thankfully she was able to get out of this rut eventually.

McCormick has been married to Michael Cummings since 1985, and she had gone through various rehab and therapy to make herself better. Although this had helped her sober up, she would still suffer from depression and paranoia.

But with the help from her husband and her friends from The Brady Bunch cast, she seems to have mostly overcome all of it and stay sober since.

McCormick and Cummings had their first and only child on May 19, 1989, in Natalie Michelle Cummings.

Criticism

There is not a lot of negativity or criticism surrounding Maureen McCormick other than her drug abuse.

The actress is beloved by most people around her. The struggles she has had to go through are perhaps the only notable negative entity in her history to the public knowledge.

Unfortunately, events of this sort have caused her loss of reputation as an actress for the most parts.

The media and studios have seen her as unreliable since then. This is mostly to be blamed for her lack of stardom afterward.
