Mike Posner was born on February 12, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan. His father, Jon Posner, was a criminal defense lawyer.
He also has a sister named Emily Posner, who is six years older than him. His father was Jewish while his mother is a Christian.
Mike Posner was a student of Bingham Farms Elementary School in his childhood and attended Duke University to pursue his degree in Sociology.
He was in the fraternity of Sigma Nu when he attended Duke. He earned a GPA of 3.6 when he graduated.
