Early Life
Ryan Higa, popularly known as Nigahiga, was born on June 6th, 1990 in Hawaii, United States. He was born to Wendell Higa and Luci Higa and has an elder brother named Kyle. He belongs to Okinawan descent.
Higa graduated in 2008 from Waiakea High School. He created his YouTube channel while he was a student in 2006.

In 2006 while they were in high school, Nigahiga started making lip-syncing videos on YouTube with his friend Sean Fujiyoshi. Gradually they started creating comedy content side by side making songs. In 2009, Higa started losing his lip-syncing videos due to copyright issues, for which he decided to compose his music. In the same year, he released a short film named “Nija Melk” which was about ninjas.
