On 3^rd February 1990, Janice Turner gave birth to Sean Kingston in Miami, Florida. Among the three siblings, Kingston was the eldest son.

When Kingston was 6 years old, his family transferred to Jamaica. For three years, he studied at Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios. After that, his family again shifted to the United States.
