Thomas Duane Arnold commonly known as Tom Arnold was born on March 6, 1959, in Iowa, United States.
He has six siblings and their parents were Linda Kay and Jack Arnold. Abandoned by their mother, Arnold and his siblings were raised by their father.
In an interview, he spoke about being sexually abused by his babysitter when he was aged 4 to 7.
Arnold studied in Ottumwa High School and then graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business administration and writing.

Tom Arnold’s career started as a comedian in 1982 when he was 23 years. He used to participate in a show called “Tom Arnold and the Goldfish Review” as a comedian with a prop.
During this time in the early 1980s, he met the rising comedienne Roseanne Barr.
They first met when Roseanne invited him to her television show as a writer and later they went on many tours for a few years.
