On December 3, 1978, Katrina Laverne “Trina” Taylor set her foot on this world in Miami, Florida. You might not guess this, but she is of mixed cultures. Her mother originally originates from the Bahamas and her father comes from the Dominican Republic. 

Growing up in Pembroke Isle, Florida, Trina grew an interest in music. She attended Miami Northwestern Senior High School for her schooling. During her free time, she used to write rap rhymes. 

Trina was a majorette in that high school and later graduated in 1992 from there.

During her spare time, she used to focus on pursuing her rapping career. Her rap rhymes grabbed the attention of another Miami rapper Trick Daddy.
